On Sunday, June 12 we celebrated Marcella's baptism. It was a joyful morning for all, and Marci never fussed. Her baptism took place during the second service at our church, The First United Methodist Church with Pastor Troy Bowers officiating. This was a very special moment for J.D. and I as we were not only dedicating our lives to raising Marcella to know God but the ceremony was conducted by the same individual who married us five years ago this July. Several family members made it back for her baptism and we are very thankful for this! After the church service a light lunch was served at Marci's Grandpa and Grandma B's home. We had sandwiches, salads, and pink cup cakes.

Kenwood Cove
We took a break from the Festival on Saturday and tested the waters at Kenwood Cove. With us we took our six Garber nieces and nephews as well as Aunt Summer Garber and Aunt Brandi Garber. The water was a bit too chilly for Marcella, but this didn't stop the rest of the kids. They swam, floated in the lazy river, dominated the slides and even tested their luck on the large lily pads. They even convinced their moms and Uncle J.D. to go down what we call the toilet bowl of Salina. While they all enjoyed themselves, Marcella wanted NOTHING to do with the water. She cried if her big toe even touched the water; however, we now know the water was just too cold as we have taken her, again, to the Cove and the lake and she LOVED it! She's now a natural born water bug. Here are a few pictures of her sporting her super cute hot pink on powder pink, ruffle swimming suit. She's our little doll!
Smoky Hill River Festival
The first full weekend in June we did a lot of celebrating! A part of our celebrating took place at The Smoky Hill River Festival. The Festival is something always enjoyed by our family and friends. Marci enjoyed her first festival and had even fell asleep Friday night to music by a friend's band, Joe's Pet Project. Here are a few pictures from our time at the festival; it was a great weekend. This is a picture of Marci getting some lovin' from her Aunt Carly; Marci was full of smiles all weekend!
Marci and her Grandpa Randy Garber playing on the blanket Saturday afternoon.Marci helped her daddy decide what food to eat and he ate a lot!
Such a sweet little girl; yes, she's a drooler!
Our first family picture at the festival; Marci had a cute orange bow that matched her festival jumper, but her Grandpa B said it needed to come off as it was pressing and indention into her head...upps!

First Golf Cart Ride
Marcella had her first golf cart ride the other evening; Grandma B held onto her while I took her for a spin. We went to the hanger and back while Grandpa B worked in the shed. She loved the ride and kept her tongue out most of the time.
Sabetha
The weekend after Memorial Day we went to Sabetha to visit the Garber family! We had a great trip. On Saturday, JD played in the hospital's golf tournament with his brother, Scott, while Summer, Marci, and I took Noah and Gabe to their first summer swim meet. We couldn't have asked for a better morning to be outside. Here are a few pictures of our weekend in Sabetha; Marci was 18 weeks.
This is a picture of Marcella and her Great Grandma Rose Mary Garber; Grandma Rose Mary adores Marci and is every so gentle with her. Marcella is great grandchild number 11, I think. :-)
Aunt Summer snapped a few pictures of Marci on their hammock Sunday morning; she looks so long in their picture!
Tired girl crashed Saturday evening during the BBQ at Scott and Summer's house; I guess this is what happens after a full day and a very, very short nap.
Marci getting some loving from her Aunt Brandi at Cousin Braden and Gabe's baseball game. This was Marci's first baseball game and it only consisted of one hot dog and two diapers changes. Okay so she didn't eat the hot dog but it sure was good!

The Pride of Wildcat Land, Miss Marcella Garber!
Cousin, Krista Langley graduated from K-State this past May. Below is our first family picture outside of Bramlage; I'm sure there will be more to come, but this one was special! Marcella was 15 1/2 weeks old. This past spring we renewed our football season tickets and can't wait to take Marci. This will be our 11th season in cheering on the Wildcats.

Good Morning, Marcella
Last Friday, June 3 marked one week of "sleeping through the night" for Marcella. After her 4-month check-up, we decided we had a trained night feeder or so that's what our doctor suggested. Although many would disagree, the little pamphlet given to us at the appointment said 90% of all babies sleep through the night at 4-months of age, which is classified as 6-8 hours of continuous sleep. So we made the decision to begin the process of getting Marci to sleep through the night, which to us would be anything longer than 3-4 hours as that's the most she had ever gone. The first night was by far the hardest, but we made and every night since then has gotten easier. We also began feeding Marci one tablespoon of rice cereal in the evenings and what she doesn't eat we are dumping in her bottle. We are closing in on two weeks of 9:00PM-6:00AM of sleep and we are ever so thankful! Here are a few pictures I snapped of her waking up in her crib. Mornings are by far my favorite; she is always so happy to see us. I particularly LOVE the picture of her with her eyes closed as we have one just like this from her when she was only two weeks of age.
